Here's a Pic of a cab my buddy Bob caught on Saturday July 2nd. Caught within a good cast from the shore of Fort Ross.

It was released. Notice the New Sea Angler just to the right of the fish. They did not release 80 lings and 300+ rockfish that day.

Jebus, 80 lings?

Renee and I took my mom on the "Rapid Transit" from Emeryville on Sunday the 3rd. The boat took limits of rockfish (95% blues), and there were maybe 6 keeper lings between 23 anglers.

I just read the MBA-Seafood Watch release on Lingcod -- recreational catch greatly exceeds commercial catch. Kind of scary.

Between Renee, me, and my mom, we took 30 blue rockfish. They will all be eaten. We've eaten at least 10 of them so far.

Still, I don't know if all of the anglers will eat all of the rockfish ... 10 rockfish/angler seems like a really high limit, especially since there is no size limit.

Ah what the heck. Here's a 20 lb. hallie I caught on the 4th off the Golden Eye 2000 out of Berkeley. Also limited out on big rockies and got 1 ling.

Sweet, John! You know, when I was at Sea World a couple weeks ago I saw the massive croakers they had in one of the displays and thought of your catches. Not only are yours bigger but they're a lot cleaner, too. Pretty cool to see them swimming around in a display like that, though.

Aw, what the heck. I'll take this chance to show off my girlfriend, with the first fish she's ever caught. A 19" cabbie, caught 6/24/05.
