Whats Your Routine After A Day Of Fishing?

I am definitely a creature of habit. I have a clean up routine after each fishing adventure. Curious what other fisherman do. Probably similar to mine:

1. Unload truck.
2. Put away unused bait.
3. Clean any kept fish.
4. Rinse off reels.
5. Wipe down rods.
6. Clean baitbox, bait cutting board.
7. Wash hoop net if used. (Batray slime smells!)
8. Inspect fish cart, reorganize stuff in it.
9. Reorganize tackle box, inspect used rigs, make new ones as necessary.
10. Throw fishy clothing into washer.
11. Share my days adventure with my wife and family.
12. Post comments and read Pierfishing.com.
13. Get ready for the next trip! 🙂

Happy fishing trips everyone!

Wow, you have a lot of energy.

Depending on the trip.
After Mole trip, I am home around 10:00-10:30 PM. Too tired to do anything.

Unload only bait cooler and fish (if any). Fill the cooler with ice. Go to bed.
Next day put left-over bait in bait freezer.
Give away any fish most of the time.

It may take a few days before unloading the 4Runner.
Reels were washed at the Mole.

Tackle organizing and upgrade are done few days before the next trip.
Eventually work on the post of the trip.

Daydream about the next outing, or big fishing trip.

What year is your 4runner? I have a 1998 SR5 V6. Love it!

Like to clean all my gear, etc, but typically I start at about 5am for the drive to the sea and get home after 9 or 10pm... So I
unpack food or bait (if any left) into refrigeration and am lucky to make it to the sofa or a bed before just passing out...

unload
clean and properly prep fish if any kept
clean off gear
if i'm not too tired, I properly put everything away. Most of the time, everything goes into the stand by corner until I go fishing again.

Thanks for posting your list and starting this topic. I think developing a list like this is pretty important to sustainably successful fishing. Sometimes my tendency is to use all the energy I have actually fishing. Then I have no energy left to do all the other things that are necessary for successful fishing on my next trip. My next trip usually suffers because of this. I think it is so important to develop a routine that finishes a fishing trip and resets everything so that it is ready for the next trip.
