Smart fishing reels?

So basically the Apple Watch but for fishermen with a fishing app built in?

Sorry, but I don't think I want some random company to be able to monitor where I fish, how many times
I reel in a fish (at what location), how much pull on the line that fish exerts (ie is it a big fish or small fish),
how long I fought a fish, etc... Because this is the information that they will be data-mining (although to
do it legally they will likely do it anonymously not linked to a specific device unless you allow them to link
your ID) and most likely selling to websites like fish-sniffer, etc. It can have valid uses with DFW or other
research bodies but the potential for abuse and invasion of privacy is just too much I think.

I agree with Ken 100%... Smart fishermen are more important than smart fishing reels.

Thanks for posting this Ken, but I think I will stick with the reels I already have.

By the way, you double posted your link. You might want to delete the other post.
