Had some fun on the pier this morning. Caught and released several Thornbacks, 2 Batrays (wingspan 21 and 23 inches), 1 short Sandbass, 1 White Croaker, 1 Rock crab and a few Smelt for livebait. No hits on the Smelt.

Another fisherman targeting Jacksmelt, left with a bucketful. He used Sabiki tipped with shrimp.

Side note - the pier has been getting vandalized with graffiti quite a lot this past year. City doing a good job to remove in a timely manner. I sent a Thank You email to the Public Works Director. So sad this is happening.

Good luck fishing everyone!

People ruin everything. Unfortunately it's not legal to toss them over the rail with your returned catches.

Thank you for sending them that note, it epitomizes the sentiment of what we were trying to teach with the Pier Rats Code.
