San Clemente Pier Sunday 5/1/2022

Skunked. Fished a sabiki at the end of the pier from about 9:30 to 11:00, hoping for sardine or anchovy. Not even nibbles.
One very small sculpin and two modestly sized rays taken by others. None of the people in-shore were getting any bites at all.
Weather was cold and windy, and surf was rough and high.

Thanks for the report! Need to go back to that pier! It is one of my favorites on the mainland.

When it warms up croakers are fun. Use mussels.

According to the monthly report I posted last week, red tide has been around the pier which usually means slow fishing until it leaves.
