I didn't respond given this was one of Mahigeer's neighborhood spots (and a favorite). The floating dock that allowed fishing was removed approximately 7-8 years ago and replaced with additional docks for the boats (or yachts) that use the park. When open, it was a steady producer of fish including kelp and sand bass, croakers (white and yellowfin croaker as well as queenfish), jacksmelt and topsmelt, sharays ( bat rays and round stingrays), and a variety of other fish—salema, mackerel, butterfish, lizardfish, barracuda, a few halibut and even giant kelpfish. My last visit was in December 2013 when I caught 33 fish. It was an easy spot to fish (parking and nice restrooms, etc.), was rarely too crowded, and almost always yielded fish, one type or another (on only one trip was I skunked). It's missed.
