Hit the pier either early morning right before the sun comes up or evening right when the sun is going down. Tons of macs have been hitting at sundown, bring your glow sticks and chopped mackerel for bait for faster production, or baitless sabiki works as well but slower. I prefer the other pier down the street, but fishing should be about the same.
