Picture taken by Thomas Tran, who used to post under the name Tranbaby. I was tossing bleeding olive herring fish traps for ling cod. An effective lure I'm sorry to say is no longer made. That day there was an obnoxious group of outrigger people who were too close to the shore and ticked off shore anglers. Some of the bait fishermen lost lines and tackle. I was lucky and reeled in. And waited. And waited. They took their sweet self-centered time.

This locale is the jetty across Fort Baker Pier in Horseshoe Bay, below the north tower of Golden Gate Bridge.

That was one of my favorite places to fish. You didn't have to be part mountain goat to walk on the jetty, plenty of natural rocky shoreline of that is what you prefer, and if your car-key breaks off in the lock when opening your trunk you can get pizza delivered from Sausalito while you wait for the locksmith to show up...
