Wylie's Bait and Tackle

A very sad, sad day. Wylie's was one of my favorite shops and an iconic shop since 1946. Luckily Ginny Wylie appears to be safe.

Here is an article I wrote many years ago. Just a few month's ago I wrote an updated article for the Fish Taco Chronicles (that I will try to post). We also, just a few months ago, filmed Ginny at the shop for a Youtube video, which should soon be posted. Glad we documented Ginny and the shop in film before this happened. Ginny is safe but now without the business she has worked in for more than 50 years and I am sure she is devastated.

Here's the old article I wrote.

It is so sad indeed. I love these bait-n-tackle shops. Love Gus's in SF as well. I used to live within a few blocks so visited there just to chat up. Johnny's sport shop in Pasadena is dangerously close to the Eaton Fire. I checked in with them and relieved to learn they survived all right.
