I was watching a show about the Fish and Wildlife wardens in Texas.
They confiscated (5) short fish from a kayaker and gave him ticket for no license and short fish. They could have given for five shorts, but did only for one. Lesson learned was the consensus.
Later they inspected an angler in a boat. He met all the required laws. License, PFD, etc.
When the angler told them he had no fish, they offered and gave him the five (dead) fish.
They also gave him paperwork indicating that the wardens supplied the short fish. Thus, he would not get in trouble with other wardens.
Way to go Wardens.
