Thanksgiving 2022 Oceanside Pier report

No family turkey this year, so fishing it is!!! Beautiful day, clear water, baits plentiful, I tried something new, a new technique for catching Mackerel at night, I use bicycle light shining onto the water, and the result is awesome, once the fish are attracted to the light I use metal jig and sabiki, just like daytime fishing!!!

Dang I need to try your technique next time. Thanks for sharing. We were at San Clemente Pier last night and didn’t get any top water bites on glow stick + salted mackerel. Did you notice if the mackerel were in a lower water column compared to October?

Hi, no change, just like summertime, they were about 5-6 feet down, good luck!!!
