Took the wife and son for a day trip up to Santa Barbara yesterday. Stopped by one of the mini jetties at Ventura only to find off colored water and only a few nibbles on the gulp camo worm. Got to Stearns and setup with a few hoopnets by 430. Water was clear but no bait fish signs. Slow but steady rock crab until dark when they really started to eat. Left with plenty of crab at 9. Threw back more than a dozen keepers and females. Tried catching a smelt for a halibut, but zero bait. Beautiful day with the family!
