Had a week off for Spring Break and charted some hours at the pier. A lot of anglers; not a lot if fish. Still, a good time had by all the regulars.
The weather has not been consistent but some baitfish like American shad have started to make a presence. If we can string together 3 to 4 days of warm weather, the pier may see a double-digit day of gamefish.
I was 1 of the lucky 2 people of 4/13 to get the 25” striped bass on live smelt. All of the fish I have landed in the last couple weeks just happened to be caught at 6:30 to 7:30 in the evening which has been the optimal time lately overall. The majority of the daytime has been like Stephen King’s “Dead Zone.”
