Fished Russian Gulch Beach (in Sonoma Coast State Park, north of Jenner- not to be confused with Russian Gulch Sate Park, north of Mendocino Bay) on Friday, 8/28. Caught 15 surf perch to 11”. Mostly red-tails and walleyes, but I did bring in one spectacular striped sea perch (the picture does not do justice to the bright electric blue makings.)
6 were caught on a Hi/lo rig and 9 caught on a Carolina rig, with a 2oz sinker using 2” Gulp sand worms (blood color) on a #2 baitholder hook.
Sonoma Coast State Park provides lots of easy access to miles of good fishing water. Fall can be a great time to fish the North Coast. Get out and get bit!
