Shelter Island Pier

I been fishing the pier last few days...Weather has been summer like.

Mackeral bite has been good. Best time is an incoming tide. Nothing wide open but a consistent bite. I been using a strip of squid on a light spinning outfit.

I caught a few small spotted bay bass. They bit on some ghost shrimp using a light spinning outfit.

All fun and blessed to be out fishing...

For fellow pier anglers in San Diego...shelter island has been consistent on the mackerel. A few short bass for fun. Plenty of smelt around the pier if you have a sabiki rig. Summer like weather....have fun🤙👍
