Was updating my fish descriptions over the weekend and adding in the World Record fish as listed by the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA). I noticed that the shovelnose guitarfish caught by my friend Boyd Grant many years ago at the Ventura Pier and netted by myself was bigger than the listed world record fish. We had no idea that it might be a record and certainly did not have any of the forms nesessary to submit for record fish (or care about the same) but it is interesting. I think we returned the fish to the water after weighing and measuring it although I can't remember for sure. See the picture in the post listed below.
