Went on my first offshore trip on the Grande. The boat departed at 5:30 am, and we started our first drift at around 7:15. The fishing was fast and furious, with almost every bait that hit the water being jumped on by a schoolie yellowfin or skipjack. Unfortunately, due to the number of anglers (48) and lack of cooperation, many fish were lost. I managed two yellowfin with many more losses. Once the bite died on that drift, we searched around for schools, and came across a couple deep schools of bluefin. People dropping down flatfalls and other similar jigs got bit, but were near instantly popped off. No bluefin were boated. Overall I was satisfied with my first offshore experience and the boat crew.
