A friend is retiring from teaching in June. She is considering a move to San Diego County to be closer to her son. Are there any groups that routinely meet at any of the piers that would welcome a newcomer?
I do not know of any specific groups although I am sure there are some. There are almost always a friendly group of people at the Shelter Island Pier and I might start there.
