Fishing license

What i didnt get was with lots of the debate it had they still declined the year round license. I buy mine every year but some people i know doesnt so they just dont buy it. Then when fishing is hot they wanna buy it but sometimes they say its pointless if they buying it if its like around september. Then they have the 1 day 2 day but for about $15 compared to $50 a year its really not worth it. I dont see why they just dont pass the 1 full year license. Plus i think if they make you have a license for piers and jettys that might get rid of alot of poachers too. Just my .02

It makes sense on so many levels.
Except from an enforcement perspective—the calendar year system makes it easier for wardens to do their job. The one-year from purchase date license would require them to engage with anglers to check licenses more frequently.
I would still vote for it 100% though.

How many are in favor of a one-year fishing license dated from the time you buy the license, not a January-December license?

A prorated CA license just makes sense and I thought it was supposed to have passed legislation in the last couple years by now?

So many times I see people wait until the weather/bite heat up, and by that time many times they have 6 months or less left.

Great way to get that person that hasn’t fished in awhile back into it or that person that goes on a charter one day in the year to get a full year license.

It’s win/win for all involved! Nice gift idea for someone’s birthday whenever that may be throughout the year!
