El Nino Did That

The regular bunch of pier rats has been during quit well in term of catching mackerels. So i decided to join them this morning to see if i can match the hatch with them(some sort of). Thanks for the fish god, the mackerels did not disappoint. they were there in bunches and nothing for a while and then, they showed up again in bunches. I guess consistency and patience paid off. macks.JPG

Thanks for the pictures, it's nice to know what a Mac looks like.

Would you be able to provide any info on the general area, tide, rigs etc? I believe that this info would be more helpful then a picture of the outcome.

Sure, I would be happy to provide the info for you. The area that we fish at were up here in the Northern Ca near Santa Cruz and we look for the incoming tide, usually the best and we use the Sabiki Rig that we make our self, it's stronger and does not tangle much like the one you buy from the store and for bait, u could use from cut up anchovies to chunk of shrimp.
