Crab Snaring @ Ocean Beach in San Francisco

#1
A late report on crab snaring on Sunday, it was a bit of a challenge on that day 100_3729.JPG . The wave were big and the sidewash was ridiculous, it was hard to keep the snare in one position, however when the snare does not move around that's when the crab were caught. put in about 4 hours of time and went home with two keepers. (6") :)
10' Daiwa Emblem
Penn 525 mag reel
Home made Snare 8 oz.

Thanks for the report.
Could you add to the title Northern California to the post.

We don't want anybody seeing this report to think that they can do the same in Ocean Beach (San Diego).

Snares are not allowed in Southern California.

Thanks.

Good catch!
Just curious: 8 oz with bait or empty?
Are you using Emblem EMBLM1002MHFS Lure weight 1-6 oz. or EMBLM1002MHFB Lure weight 1-8 oz? Anyway snare with bait is exceding 8 oz. Is it OK?
And one more question: is 8 oz snare not enough to stop moving around?
Thanks

Thank you! My Shimano Tiralejo TRS110HA has snapped when I cast 6 oz. snare plus bait.
