Clarification on the "public pier" status of the two piers in the Arrowhead Marsh (Martin Luther King Jr.) park area.

I got official word today from the East Bay Parks District that the two piers in the Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline Park, the Arrowhead Marsh Pier and the Doolittle Drive Pier, ARE indeed public piers. The "fisheries" man for the park said the recent $200 fine given to an angler could be contested and the angler would win in court but I told him the fine already had been paid. However, apparently on the back of the fine there is a number to contact if he wants to challenge the fine. Probably too late but who knows?

I thought the "fisheries" man for the park was both helpful and apologetic for what had taken place. Kind of unusual today for anyone at an agency to apologize for a mistake such as this.

Aww man 😫😠😡. I am pissed off, park police embarassed me in front of all the people walking the park telling me its a private pier and license is required.

Already on record that I pleaded guilty and paid my citation.

Thanks Ken!

Too bad it took so long. By the way, if you still have the ticket and number on the back you might be able to get the ticket removed from your record.
