Sounds like a fun trip. I hope I can go to one of these resorts someday. I did not know there were Bat Rays and Rockfish. Out of curiosity, are there any other local species that can be found in that area (aside from pelagics like Yellowtail and Bonito)?
It was an absolute blast. Long after I forget the cost, the memory will be there.
Actually, although the yellowtail and bonito are found there, they are not the main catch, or fished for.
Marlin, Dorado, Roosterfish, Red snapper, Yellowfin tuna, Skipjack, Jack Crevalle, African Pompano, Bat Rays, needlefish and whale shark are better known species there.
This link to the Baja Pirates site, one of my favorite landings (in La Paz) gives an overview of the main species and what months they are typically caught. The season is basically the same at the East Cape.
