Like @Rusty experienced bite is tough, just have keep at it and pick away at them. Basic conditions hold, lots of micro smelt on surface, large balls of BIG sardines passing through hugging the bottom, Bonito boiling through the smelt
Thu 9/12 was windy SSE wind, smelt on both sides of the pier, really slow bite, picked off 4 eventually some on Kroc some on surface feather
Thu 9/17 was beautiful, 12p-3p mild wind and thick smelt, maybe also grunion massing for full moon? smelt mostly on end and north side of pier, thick at sink area, tons of small to large boils but really slow bite, all they want is the micro smelt. Picked off 7 and lost 5 or so in 3 hrs, just kept fishing. About 50/50 on Kroc and surface feather. Fished all around the empty pier working the bait walls and boils, all but 1 strike was bait walls. Some 14
Tried the LC-110 but just a couple followers, no concrete strikes.
Small flock of Grebes came to chow on the bait
