Was at Balboa with my son and friends enjoying the clear weather while we had it. (High tide: 7am, Low tide: 2pm). Caught a thornback in the morning around high tide in the shallows. Pulled a surprise cabezon caught on a full squid on a fish finder rig at 11am mid pier. Around 4pm the mackerel hit. Was pulling 3-4 per cast small to medium size. Ton of sardines, some smelt and plenty of dolphins to watch as well.
