Anyone fishing?

It's been four weeks but I did fish Robert Wooley Pier in Burlingame on 1/25, which was a new pier to me. 9:00 to 11:00 PM. There were five other people fishing, which made it a full house. Everyone fishing bait on the bottom and not one single bite. I didn't know how shallow the water was here, and it put a damper on using a sabiki to catch bait. The pier just doesn't seem very fishy to me.

Where did you fish?
I spent a week at the Strawberry Reservoir Bay lodge and fished the reservoir.

The first fish is a cutthroat in the slot size (most are) that had to be released.
The five rainbows were kept by my friend to help needy! I only had one but was the biggest (on top).
The snowmobile made it much easier to transport my sled/tent unit.
Lots of mishaps including getting stuck in the snow the last day on the way home to a point that I said, "no more ice fishing for me".
However, after cooling down a few days later, I have some ideas on how to make it easier next year.

or is the weather keeping people home?
Yes the weather has limited my fishing and also my fishing partners. We are all planning on going Tuesday this next week if we don't get that rain they mentioned. Hope the water is not the brown like it was on Thursday. They say there was some bait, but the fish didn't want it. We'll try.

It takes a real, dedicated fisherman to fish on the ice. Glad you are doing it.

I went out once back in mid January to the shoreline by the Chase Center and ATT Park, caught some rubber lip perch on market shrimp. Its been cold for the most part. Waiting to try my luck in March/April for the hali and stripers to hit the Bay.

I've seen people catch jacksmelt on the incoming tide and Ive heard from locals perch are around along with sharks and rays. The area isnt very deep when it isnt high tide so I dont think its a fishy area either.
