I fished Grizzly Island’s Red Barn Pier; Belden’s Landing Pier; Collinsville Pier, and the Marina Pier in Suisun in the Bay Area with my brother yesterday who does not have a license. I believe he is going to get a license now and fish those spots where he lives. He also has some nice tackle shops in that area like Fisherman’s Warehouse.
I fished with my brother that is 1 year older than I who my dad had watch me when the 2 of us fished alone on Berkeley Pier growing up as kids at age 7,8,9,10. He was much bigger than I for 1 year older and a super iron-man athlete. I didn’t figure out until later that he didn’t like fishing as much as I did, it was that my dad didn’t care for fishing and I couldn’t fish alone until puberty set in.
As I mentioned above, I think my brother will start fishing in his area of Fairfield, CA now that I introduced him to all of the shore spots in his area (and now that he has raised his 1 daughter and she is in her second year of college at Buffalo State, New York).
We didn’t catch anything at various spots I took him (more of a site-seeing tour) but he did get to see someone fighting a sturgeon at the Red Barn Pier and get a couple nibbles at the Marina Pier in downtown Suisun (I caught a 30# salmon there during the last game of the World Series there about 8 years or so ago).
