The great American road trip... less fun when you become the driver. Hitting up the Cabela’s in Reno tomorrow, what should I get? 8 ‘ seems short, 10’ seems noodly, haven’t seen the 9’ yet. They are all on sale at 16$ now, any advice?

I like a longer reel from shore for perch because it gives me a better angle on the waves......10' minimum for me......I mostly look at salmon/steelhead rods for this application......Spinning or casting.....like the 10' Shimano Convergence, or the Okuma Rockaway Line, etc........I just got a 14' Tica Spinning rod that I am really jazzed about.......I also have an 11' Crappie rod for those special times when wave and swell are minimal........
