The plan was to target surf perch and this little fellas showed up instead. Location- Northern Ca, Bait-Grub, Tackle- 9" Phenix w/Curado reel.

Grab the tackle and Dash out the door straight out to the beach. got there an hour before the high tide, the surf was moderate. Notice a patch of sandcrabs right in front of me and the trough was right there. I told myself to be more consistent working this area. well enough said.

Swell were down, no strong sidewash, just perfect for grubbing. setup with the carolina-rig with a plastic grub at the end. cast and retrieve back and forth. it was a steady hit and missed throughout the entire hour. waited for the change of the tide then it was more constant hookup afterward...

The Huge Barred Fought Like a mid-size stripe bass. I was grubbing along the trough and found this nice little hole. just worked at that spot for a few minutes and it produced that pot of perch. amazing.

The Stripers has not been around the area for about couple of weeks now, so decided to check out the surf to see what's out there. Throw out a plastic grub and just work the trough. Did not get disappointed. Had a great time.
