Fished rising high tide. Overcast morning. Huge ocean swells originating from beyond end of pier. Surfers having a good time.

Managed to land and release a Batray (22 inch wingspan), a Thornback Ray, two Round Stingrays, and a Jacksmelt.

A fisherman nearby landed several Jacksmelt and a few Pacific Chub Mackerel. Other fishermen targeting Queenfish were catching a few on sabiki tipped with smelt strips. Kind of hit and miss. Fishermen kept moving around pier in search of the school.

A nice morning to relax on the pier.

Good luck fishing.
