    San pedro pier report

I use light line as well. I’m there to enjoy the sport and not feeding the family. Hook many more fish on the lower test and very little weight.

    FORGOT MY TACKLE BOX!

I know the large liquor store on main has bait but I believe they have simple tackle as well ….as soon as you walk in to the right.

San Clemente Pier - September 11th.

That’s great.I can imagine the Warden is running low on tickets from the bonito limit as they fill a cooler. What does the parking cost at SC now

    Newport Pier 6/29

Thank you. That is not a rant, that is reality. It is disgusting and unacceptable. Wish they allowed volunteer F&G. I would love it. Watch what’s coming in and wait at the end and check coolers. A few $$$$ tickets is a start. Use CALTIP (888-334-2258) I used it at SB and luckily the warden was...

Seal Beach Pier - May 14th

You’re correct. Two months ago we were at Belmont catching a Mac or queen fish on every cast and multiple fishermen came up to ask what we were using. Simple small hook, small bait and 6lb test. Most of them were using 40lb test giant bait and coffee grinder set ups. No blue fin off the piers :)

Seal Beach Pier - May 14th

I have good luck before the last cleaning station on the right if you’re walking to the end. Has a bench :)

    Remembering the Isle of Redondo.

Memories for sure. I fished both the Redondo and Annie B with my father and grandfather. Great times. Almost always fresh bait and good galley food. We had quite a few bonito runs on the Annie B and a few yellowtail off the redondo from time to time. Mainly mackerel though and sand bass tossing...

Cultural Differences On CA Piers And Attitudes Towards Fish.

You did what you should have. That behavior disgusts me and more than you can count, I’ll talk .... to the people abusing fish or regulations, especially small halibut. Some high and mighty shark fishermen went over the line at the pier and left a half dozen shark on the hot concrete including...

    Seal Beach Pier April 11th

I used to work off Telegraph and Savon is a gem for sure. Sad when Fisherman’s hardware closed up in LBC.

    Seal Beach Pier April 11th

I was going to head there early this morning but the fog was very thick where I live in Lakewood and skipped it.

Three piers but a slow fishing day...

I thought HB was a straight 20 bucks for parking. I use the Passport App for parking rather than feed the machine. Works very well at the pier lots.

What do they do with all the smelt? Boney plain and scales galore. Yuck. Catch it kill it. :)

Later this month but they move inshore and feast. See what the weather gives us.

    Veteran's Memorial Pier March 5th

I ordered a soft bait to resemble the grunion that are here now. Halibut love grunion. See what happens. I love Belmont but the few folks that seem unstable listen if you tell them to move along. I’ve seen some fishermen hand them a blunt to get away
