    floating pier report

Hi Folks: Am wondering if the pro kayakers could summarize online the current Cal DFG's basic regulations relevant to kayak fishing, including licensing, permissible number of rods to be used, baits, "do's and don'ts" while fishing in the State's waters, etc. Thanks!

    Great news for California anglers.

That was a great news! The next Bill should be initiated and passed in Sacramento to waiver or discount license fees for all seniors living in the State of California, just like it has been done long ago by other states in the Union. Don't you think? Thanks for the post, Mahigeer!

Where to buy bait...bait shop versus the market...

Folks: Putting some charcoal pieces (best is activated carbon) into old socks/stockings in the trunk of your cars - usually used for fishing trips - will help to control bad odors ... Hope this will help a bit !

Do hope there will be a happy ending to this incident. Most of older-age fishermen tend to go fishing solo, preferring tranquility and peaceful environments... Just hope that local PD and fellow fishermen, specially in Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur areas could give some valuable assistance to...

Mahigeer, Thanks for your 'Action Alert' post informing all of us about the on-going issue that politicians love to come up with during election years in the name of the people, and even that of 'scientists' lofty desires as shown in your post. We just have to be alert, don't we?

Quoted: "This is why scientists throughout California and around the world are imploring us to act, and why we have responded with our legislation ..." Don't know what "scientists" whom this bureaucrat Ash Kalra of San Jose is referring to, but as a member of The American Federation of...

Some new old tackle tips...from Ron Crandall

Ron: Me too, am sorry to hear about the Pickup truck wrestling incident you went through and the result of loss of feeling in your fingers. But, look at the positive side: Retiring in that beautiful poetic Bodega Bay up there with plenty of fishes to swing your rods to is indeed a type of...

OK, Gents.! Can't help having that feeling of nostalgia while viewing your Nor-Cal photos... bearing memories of those good old years of fishing I traversed during the 50-60's years up there ! Fishes were abundant then, and during weekends I used to drive all the way up to the Golden Gate...

Some new old tackle tips...from Ron Crandall

Quoted: "Per my wife's orders ..." Hmmmm, can't remember since when, but somehow those words from the Boss of the gùng-ho boss always proved to be more powerful and effective making things happen around the house, even in the addicted Fisherman world! Only God knows why, perhaps? Don't you...

    Always fishing.

Sausalito ? It's got to be near that beautiful Pinnacle Restaurant with full view of the famous Alcatraz and the Golden Gate where below I used to fish... In the 60's we called that unique section of the Bay "The reserved Rough-Life society"... Cheese, time has flown by so fast, and the ship...
