Friday morning I fished the Goleta Pier from 7 a.m. to 10:15 but unfortunately the fishing remained very slow. Luckily I ran into a school of white seaperch and they sort of saved the day (although not by much).
I found they have totally removed our old angler center and the restroom on the pier (and the nearest restroom is a long walk away).
The catch: 7 white seaperch, 6 speckled sanddab, 1 onespot fringehead (a species I hadn't caught for several years) and 1 bull sculpin. I didn't get a single bite from the pipe reef or in the kelp by the pilings. Strange. The pier only had a handful of anglers and I didn't see any other fish.
