Pity....I hope to be up there in September....But not until later in the month......The fishing there is VERY different with the new pier and no more cleaning station......But I still manage to pull out HUGE striped Perch just about every time I visit there

I seem to get at least one striped perch every visit. Kelp greenling and rock greenling have varied, great some trips and poor on other trips. I've felt the bottom was messed up after construction of the new pilings/pier but things should have settled by now.

Ken.......I took a bunch of pics of the area during the minus tides the last 2 years I was up there......I have the spots marked out.....Still not near the fish there used to be though........Might try cast netting shiner perch for live bait this year.......Have not decided yet though

Unfortunately I am not going to be able to attend the event this Sunday. It's the first one I've missed in all these years but I am sure Ed Roberts will do a great job everseeing the event.

If you are going have a great, great time. Ken

Sorry Ken, it would be difficult for me to make it. Hopefully, someone like Rita can make it but I have every confidence in Ed Roberts to pull the event off without a hitch.
I would have loved to fish the infamous dock you speak of in Eureka and the Citizens Dock as well as Crescent City Dock just to say I did. Last year I arrived at my goal of finally going once after Rich McIntosh telling me about Trinidad Pier and the other locales a number of times.

Good to hear the shiner perch are around.....I will have to bring my live bait bucket.......Live shiner perch on a float rig have been deadly in the past for nice rockfish from Trinidad Pier......Sliding Bobber Rigs have been to go-to rig for big perch for a couple of my local friends
