Is the only reason the BSP in So Cal are so tiny compared to north of point conception due to fishing pressure?
I've only caught tiny tiny BSP from Ventura down to San Clemente... Haven't caught (tried to fish for them) them
south of San Onofre.

The largest BSP I've caught since moving to So Cal in 2015 was the size of my palm.

Share the sentiment. I have not found a bigger BSPs but I have to say I have not really tried much. Had some past successes in Santa Monica surfs....

I've caught them at many beaches from San Onofre up to Point Mugu. The biggest was slightly larger than my palm.
