Surf fishing with local kids

Got out on an early morning Surf trip with a couple of young anglers from my area. I was on the water digging Sand Crabs at 5:30 am, started fishing at 6 am. I hooked up within 10 seconds of my first cast and proceeded to catch 5 straight medium sized Corbina, The boys, Jake and Landon caught fire and started setting the hook constantly on Corbina, Walleyed Surf Perch Leos and Barred Surfperch. It went WFO a couple of times, I had to stop and play Deckhand as the fish came in wild and wooly. We ended up with 28 Corbina landed and released, plus a smattering of other fish. The Walleyed Surfperch that Jake caught was an absolute Monster for that species. We got a couple of bigger Corbina but besides the number of fish, we’re not exceptional in size. Congratulations! What a great day you had on the corbina; never caught that many in a day myself. And, great to see you got the younger anglers out; I aways love that.
