Sunrise Point Pier (Candlestick Point) Closed?

Does anyone know if Candlestick Point pier (Sunrise Point Fishing Pier) is still open? Did a search on Google. Results mention the pier has been permanently closed! The results may be mistaken. There is a smaller pier in the area that has been closed for some years now.

I haven't been there for about a year. The main pier was open but the second, smaller pier was closed. Much of the area was closed and used by the homeless.
