People are always surprised when I tell them more hours (angler days) are spent by saltwater anglers fishing the piers and free jetties than on any other form of saltwater angling. That statement first came from the following and I haven't seen any updated data to change the overall results.

(2) Party and charter vessels — 725,319
(3) Private boats and rental boats — 672,965
(4) Beach and Bank — 302,468
