Should I Fish San Clemente Pier or Dana Point Harbor Pier

Given the extreme high surf and king tide conditions due to tropical storm Marie expected tomorrow, should I fish San Clemente Pier (open ocean) or Dana Point Harbor Pier (calm sheltered water)?

Not sure which environment is best in these conditions for fishing.

San Clemente has always been better for fishing for me, but when conditions get rough I head into the harbor. The harbor is a nice relaxing place. Although this post may be a bit late for you.

When I visirt the area I always try ro fish the San Clemente Pier. If I have time I also go over to the Dana Harbor Pier. Totally different piers and environments. The action and variety is usually greater at San Clemente but the harbor is more peaceful and I've caught quite a few fish there. Included were many spotfin croaker and one of the few bonefish I ever caught.

Thanks all - I ended going to Dana Point Harbor pier and caught 4 spotfin croaker, 1 shiner perch, and 1 tiny sargo.
