Short Trip to the Bay Area #4 — South Harbor Marina Pier

The day was beautiful, sunny with no wind, and the sights were excellent except for one—a fishing line with no fish. I didn't even get a bite although I tried two riggings, a high/low and a Carolina rig, and several baits—pileworms, ghost shrimp, anchovies, squid and market shrimp. Da Fish Were Not Bitiing! But the pier and Oracle Park (home of the Giants) is still beautiful.

That might be interesting but parking might be a problem. I parked for free a couple of blocks away from the ballpark but I don't think the same would happen on game days.

You are correct of course. Close parking spots can be $50 or more on gameday.

I live out in the Avenues and could take the N-Judah streetcar but I would want to pack light. A collapsible rod and a small tackle bag I suppose.

I am sure you would have a lot of people asking questions about the fishing: Can you really fish here? Catching anything? What do you catch here? Are the fish safe to eat? Wish I had brought my rod with me. Etc.
