I caught a few bass at san diego bay last week during my visit rock hopping and scootering around near the airport using 3 or 4 inch swimbait, xmas tree red green or the ubiquitous sfbay white.
Outgoing tide, mornings

Nice bass!

Are you aware of the health advisories for sand bass from San Diego Bay?

For some reason they are safer from Mission Bay (1 and 3 portions per week).

Yea, I use to fish the naval bases when I was younger and had access.

Most of the fish that I catch in San Diego bay are released.
