Fished the surf for several hours yesterday 8/10/25 from 12:30-4. Used Sand crab on a Carolina rig (8lb fluorocarbon). Surf was very big making it difficult to keep a bait out there.
First bite was 30 minutes in, and it was a good one. I Got this 16”+ corvina landed after a nice long battle and a mild heart attack. As soon as I got it into the shallow surf it became unbuttoned! Luckily the water had receded for a few seconds and I managed to run and tackle it my free hand. I took some pictures, bled it, and threw it in the cooler for dinner.
Managed a couple more under 12” and missed a couple bites.
It was a great day considering it was full moon and large surf.
