Beautiful sunny morning with only a handful of fishermen. Fishing was slow. Caught and released: 2 short Sand Bass and 1 short White Seabass. Hooked two Spotfin Croaker, lost both of them at the pier railing. So close!
Another fisherman caught some Jacksmelt and cut them up to feed the seagulls. Jacksmelt get no respect!
I also saw a Grandfather and his Granddaughter fishing. He loaded up a sabiki with cut bait and was rewarded with a Pacific Chub Mackerel. Great to see the excitement between the two and the big smiles for the camera. This was actually the highlight of my fishing session.
City is testing composite wood for the pier railings. About 1/3 of the pier, at the end, has been replaced. It looks good.
On this day there was a lot of noise from the construction. Good luck everyone!
