When I was a kid I had grown up friends of my father who would often invite me to go down to Point Loma to fish in the '70s. I remember one of the stories of a guy getting a shark grab a fish and leaving nothing but the head. According to the story the guy swirled the head in the water only to have the shark return for his hand. Whether apocryphal or not, it always made me believe that the hunter could easily become the hunted in a heartbeat. The potential juxtaposition of roles made the sport all the more interesting.
