Pismo Beach Pier to reopen...

Today's paper had an article about the Pismo Beach Pier and says the reopening is planned for October 20 "in time for the annual Clam Festival." There will be a mob of people but you know where I plan to be.

By the way, the reopening is actually ahead of schedule and under budget; the pier was originally planned to reopen in July 2019 and the city says it thinks the expenditures will come in a couple of hundred thousand dollars under budget. That certainly is not the norm.

Now, if we could only get the Redondo Sportfishing Pier rebuilt, the Gaviota Pier opened, the Avila Pier opened, the Berkeley Pier opened, the Fruitvale Bridge Pier opened, the end of the Seal Beach Pier opened, the end of the Malibu Pier fixed, and the Del Norte Pier is Eureka somehow made safer for visitors...

Well, it sounds like some improvement was made. I talked to someone today in Eureka and he said they have built a restroom next to the parking lot at the Del Norte Street Pier and removed the homeless encampment that was located next to the parking lot.

Remember — "the largest room in the world is the room for improvement."
