Parasites On The Fish Now

As of this week we are seeing lots of parasites on the local fish on Balboa Pier. The Calico bass have them in their mouths and the shovel nose guitarfish have them on their tops covering the whole body. They are very small and apparently not toxic for us, but who wants to injest them? Basically they are sea lice and very tiny but alive! Tomorrow I will try to examine other fish I catch. I am sure that the warm water is responsible. So much for El Niño.

Parasites are a common issue.

Remeber this poem?

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn have, greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.
