Fished from 1130 to 2 p.m. with little action. 1 kelp fish, 1 blue perch and 1 smelt for halibut bait. Couldn't make any lizard fish for bait - did they leave the area? Guys were catching a few bonito at the end, but they were extremely small . They were biting sabiki rigs. Didn't bother to fish for them they were so small. Quite a few snaggers here compared to Balboa. Always wondered if this is a legal method of taking fish? Had to fish here because it looked like a lifeguard event going on at Balboa.

As said, it is illegal to snag gamefish but too many people just don't seem to give a da... I remember bring this issue up at a Fish and Game Commission meeting in Sacramento many years ago but (basically) the commission refused to do anything about it.

According to what I know you can snag gamefish but only the sizes that are legal. Nothing under those sizes.

You are correct Snooki. It is legal to Snag any fish off the Piers in California, in Salt Water.
