What was the date on the article? I can't believe these geniuses. Many years ago, during the mandatory California hunter safety course I took, the instructor related to us an insane and tragic story that took place on the coast near Camp Pendleton. A young lady was driving on Highway 1 and was suddenly struck and killed by a bullet through her car window. An investigation revealed that people fishing offshore were shooting a rifle at sharks in the water. A round had skipped off the sea surface and flew landward.
A 100% true story, I cannot say. But the moral of the story is never discharge a firearm at a water surface. Also, aimlessly killing wildlife is dumb and cruel.
