Live Bait Cooler Idea

#1
Anyone who uses live bait (anchovies in particular), knows how difficult it can be keeping your bait alive and well from the time you obtain it to the time you get to your fishing destination and more. I used to use the 5 gallon Home Depot buckets, paired with as many aerators as I could fit, but still had trouble keeping them alive all day, especially when the weather warmed up. I figured out that keeping the water as cold as possible was key, along with providing oxygen and an applicable way to transport them all (as carrying two, full, 5 gallon buckets is way to heavy). A little ingenuity and elbow grease and here's the idea I came up with that I wanted to share with you all.
Items:
1x Igloo Ice Cube 60 Quart rolling cooler @ Target for $25
4x Bubble Boxes from Cabelas @ $10 each
1x Roll of pipe fastening conduit
5x 1/8" wood screws with 10mm socket heads

I used a drill to punch holes the diameter of the silicone hoses to go through the thin, non-insulated portions of the lid to run the air lines. The storage lid on top is still functional, and the length of the silicone hoses that come with the pumps is long enough to allows the bubble stones to rest on the bottom. Used the existing screws for the clips on the pumps to attach them to the pipe fastener, and the wood screws to secure the fastener to the lid. I've used it once already and it works great, so long as you keep scraping out the slimy film that will generate over time due to the bubbles from the pumps. The handle of the cooler can deal with the weight of a full compliment of water so long as you are easy with it. Tried it once already and had an estimated 15% die off rate from 6 am to 4 pm, which isn't bad compared to 80% using buckets. I figured this is a good rig for keeping crabs alive as well for the winter crabbing season. Just wanted to share with you all in case you are/were experiencing the same bait-failure problems that I was. If you need more precise details on how this is made, feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to assist.
