Is fishing now worth it?

To start off, I'm Canadian but a lot of my family lives in socal, so I go there about 3-4 times a year. I will be heading down to visit my family in about a week or two. Normally I would bring my rods with me so I can do some fishing while I'm there, However I had about all the rains and the fishing conditions and I was wondering if it would be worth it to bring them or would I end up getting skunked?

Otherwise, a small hook (size 6) and shrimp is versatile.

There never is a guarantee to catch fish. Just higher and lower percentages.

I will be in Catalina on March 20-21 for fishing. Bonita is fun to catch. Lots of other fish too, but mostly small.

If you can make it, I will have extra rod and tackle for you to use. Just let me know in advance.

Should you decide to come, I will send you my itinerary.

Let me know next time you are in town (Los Angeles), and we can meet at a local pier if the timing works out.
Better yet in Catalina.

LOL IMO there is only one real answer to this question no matter the circumstances. Fishing is always worth it. A day on the pier/beach/sea/lake/river/etc, even when you skunk, is generally better than a day pretty much anywhere else.

I can't imagine a day better spent than going to a pier down there. Just spend some time away and you'll miss it, I assure you. Here, we've got moose wandering through the yard but I'd trade it for a midshipman from Dana Point. Enjoy what ya' got!
